Sheldon Amos (1835-1886), b. London, England; d. near Alexandria, Egypt. He was educated in law at Cambridge and was appointed to the chair of jurisprudence in University College, London. In 1872 he became reader under the council of legal education and examiner in constitutional law and history to the University of London. We wrote several authoritative books on international law, jurisprudence, and politics.
